Cherokee Bill

The crowd was silent;
One hundred people strong
Finally the day had come
They’d waited for so long

He looked at the crowd, then to the sky
He said: “this might be a good day to die”

Rebel and killer;
He never turned the other cheek
He said: “I’ve come here for the show,
I have not come to speak”

He turned to his mother, waiting by
And said: “this will be a good day to die”

The crowd was silent
Until the trapdoor fell
Then they all applauded
As they sent him down to hell

But in the wind bills voice would cry:
“I chose a good day to die”

Ocean Blue (Topanga version)

Far away, where dreams come true; there are you
Somewhere in time I am there too; you are mine
Take me in your arms, Ocean Blue!

I remember, I recall everything;
Sounds of laughter. Sunny skies. And your eyes
Take me in your arms, Ocean Blue!

Oh, take me in your arms
Help me forget what I don’t want know
Don't want to remember!
Help me forget what I've become now
Help me forget! Help me forget!
I want to choose what to remember!

I remember sunny skies and Ocean Blue
I remember “you and I”

Far away where dreams are made; let me stay
Reality is overrated anyway
Take me in your eyes, Ocean Blue

Oh, take me in your arms
Help me forget what I don't want know
Don’t want to remember!
Help me forget what I've become now
Help me forget! Help me forget!
I want to choose what to remember!

I remember sunny skies and Ocean Blue
I remember “you and I”

I remember sunny skies and Ocean Blue
I remember “you and I”

Stay Away

The day I discovered you
You set my heart on fire
Only one thing I could do
I wanted you… I had to try

To make you discover me
To make you look my way
Had to make you see (that)
I’m good for you… I’m here to stay!

Somebody said:
“she is a heartbreaker”
Somebody said:
“you stay away from her!”

Could not believe in them
Had to believe in you
The signals you would send
Were telling me that you’d be true

Somebody said:
“she is a heartbreaker”
Somebody said:
“you stay away from her!”

Secrets of Solitude

Secrets of solitude…
Eternities have passed
Now shadows enter my mind

Uninvited, they intrude…
What do they forecast?
Is this an omen… or a sign?

Is that a fire in the sky..?
…Or just a reflection in my eyes?
You know I never could decide…
It’s not as if never tried

Secrets of solitude…
A quiet, empty room
A prison… a shelter… you decide

Is this a castle?
Or is this a tomb?
Or just a place where I can hide...?

I heard a voice the other night
Could’ve been mine, I’m not sure
It spoke of darkness and of light
And open fields and bolted doors
And I fought the war…

Secrets of solitude…
I would invite you in,
If I could, but I just can’t…

Could be my attitude,
Although genuine,
In this game I’m a debutante

I heard a voice the other night
Could’ve been mine, I’m not sure
It spoke of darkness and of light
And open fields and bolted doors
And I fought the war…
I fought the war!

DeEvolution

We’re burning bridges, and we knock down walls
We’re “cats and dogs” to each other
We’re primitive, we’re growling as we crawl
We make each other feel ten inches tall

DeEvolution penetrates our love
We’re missing links in the making…
We’re tearing down what supposedly should grow
What task are we undertaking?

We are as clear as esoteric thoughts
We speak in poisonous riddles
We both know there’s a war being fought
We’re there, caught in the middle…

DeEvolution - it’ll take its toll
We’re growing numb and indifferent
We’re rolled up like two ancient scrolls
We read each other in fragments…

We’re like strangers to each other as we hide within ourselves…
We keep blaming one another as we hide within ourselves…

We’re burning bridges, and we knock down walls
We’re “cats and dogs” to each other
We’re primitive, we’re growling as we call
We make each other feel ten inches tall

DeEvolution penetrates our love
We’re missing links in the making…
We’re tearing down what supposedly should grow
What task are we undertaking?

We’re like strangers to each other as we hide within ourselves…
We keep blaming one another as we hide within ourselves…
Within ourselves…

Hollywood 3am

Another night
Beneath the city lights
She’s sitting with her pen in hand
A letter she has tried to write;
Feelings she has tried to fight
Will she ever get it mailed? She doubts it…

Her head’s a mess
Her room is quiet
Next door a woman’s screaming at her man
It’s been going on for days
Who cares?
She never listens to them anyway. Not anymore…

She knows somewhere;
Someplace far away from here
There is a starry night
As a child she used to watch the sky
Not anymore
Now she’s blinded by the neon lights…

It’s another night in Hollywood
It all fades away
Now it’s 3 a.m. in Hollywood…

Her world is artificial;
Officially she’s living in another land
She came across the border
No one saw her. It was dark
She spent a week sleeping in the park

Abandoned by her man
She heard about a promised land
She just had to try
She left her little one;
One day she was gone
Will he remember her as time goes by?

It’s another night in Hollywood
It all fades away
Now it’s 3 a.m. in Hollywood…
She knows she’ll never ever get away!
She’ll never get away…

Diagnosed with Love

The truth of the moment
I’ve been diagnosed with love
There’s no cure as far as I know

Precautions and vaccines;
I took them all
So at an outbreak of love I wouldn’t fall

The truth of the moment
I’ve been diagnosed with you
And there’s nothing anyone can do

But I won’t complain
At least for now
‘Cause I experience no pain!

I have been diagnosed, I know!
Soon my condition will show;
I am not dying…
I’ve just been diagnosed with love

I’m not denying
This is the moment of truth;
I have been diagnosed with you

I’m not complaining
No reason to
Just ‘cause I’m smitten with you…

I have been diagnosed, I know!
Soon my condition will show;
I am not dying…
I’ve just been diagnosed with love
I’ve just been diagnosed with love

One Hit Wonder

He was a one hit wonder
And it sure changed his life
He loved his fifteen minutes of fame

He went:
Hey ho, watch me now
Daddy’s on the radio
Daddy’s putting on a show
Look it, here he goes!

Ho hey, watch me play
I can do this all day
This is daddy’s payday
Party on! Ole’!

He never saw it coming
It hit him like a brick
But his scull was way too thick

He went:
Hey ho, party on
Don’t forget I’m # one!
My name is up there in neon
I’ll pay for everyone…

Then broke and forgotten
His friends and money gone
He relives his moment in the sun…

He goes:
Hey ho, watch me now
Daddy’s on the radio
Daddy’s putting on a show
Look it, here he goes!

Ho hey, watch me play
I can do this all day
This is daddy’s payday
Party on! Ole’!

Roaches

Well, the lights are going out all over the USA
That’s another way of saying:
If you’re a kid, and you’re a bit afraid, it’s OK
Because you’re OK!

Things are going crazy, and you’re going mad
You’re the strongest generation that they’ve ever had to deal with
And they’ve dealt you some bad cards;
Making it hard for you to go straight
But it’s never too late!

They gather like roaches on the streets tonight
Like silhouettes against the city lights
Should they give in? Should they put up a fight?
They’re marching to the same old beat tonight…

They’re feeding you feathers with one hand,
Then slap you with the other
Why should you bother listening to any of their good advice?
You’ve heard it before. They’re just feeding you lies

They want you to forget about their actions, and listen to their words
If you think that’s absurd, you’re totally right!
But hey! Today’s a brand new day…
You can make’em pay just by surviving…

They gather like roaches on the streets tonight
Like silhouettes against the city lights
Should they give in? Should they put up a fight?
They’re marching to the same old beat tonight…

Well, the lights are going out, but you’re not going down
You’ll get back on your feet
Ready for another round of beating… bleeding…
Of being pushed up against the wall

But you’re standing tall. You’re a proud generation
A powerful source… the future of our nation
And you’re young and strong
You’re among the chosen ones!

They gather like roaches on the streets tonight
Like silhouettes against the city lights
Should they give in? Should they put up a fight?
They’re marching to the same old beat tonight…

Sister Sadness

Sister Sadness comes to visit
And I welcome her familiar face
Sister Sadness knows my secrets
She’s been following me around for days

She tells me all about you
(Ever present, always near)
Painting your picture in my mind…
Tells me I’m lost without you
(Turn around, and she’ll be there)
If I didn’t know that, I’d be blind…

Sister Sadness walks beside me
She’s my companion; she’s always there
If I forget, she will remind me
If I run dry, she will provide the tears

She reminds me of you
(Ever present, always near)
There is something in her eyes…
When I see her I see you…
(Turn around, and she’ll be there)
As if you came to say goodbye…

Sha-la-la…

Somewhere Between New York & Nepal

Like in a dream I met him
And I knew him from long ago
The air was thin between us
And now I knows
That he was more than a father to me
Though he spoke like to his son
And only I could help him
Yeah, I was the only one
I was the chosen one...

Tales of distant power
His story became my own
They both decided to listen
Or to be left alone
Tales of higher knowledge
I whispered, "so it be"
Then he smiled, took her hand, offered me the key
The key to hell and heaven
The key to wisdom lost
He left me then, promising whatever it might cost
It will be worth to pay the price that I might have to pay
Then he was gone, and I knew we'll meet again some day
We'll meet again, someday...
